Hello everyone, I have decided to choose 5x big books that I would like to read this year. I am trying to think more about quality than quantity. The idea came to me when I picked up a copy of Les Miserables the other night… that book is just a challenge in itself! Anyway here’s my five…
1. Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
I love the musical, I love the BBC drama production, I have never read the book. It is a huge book, probably one of the biggest I have ever owned but I would love to tackle this and read it as I love the story so much.
2. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
I started this last year I think. I keep meaning to pick it back up but last year I was all about how many books I could read and this got in my way. I think I will just start it over again and crack on with it!
3. Harry Potter – Series
My sister bought me the entire Harry Potter series 2 Christmases ago and embarrassingly they are still wrapped in the cellophane. I want to start reading Harry Potter this year. I promised myself I would last year and I didn’t so 2019 is the year!
4. Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari
I read Homo Deus a year ago and loved it and Sapians has been on my shelf for the same amount of time but unread. I want to read this book as I love learning about human kind, where we came from and our future.
5. Salinger by David Shields
Salinger is a biography of J.D Salinger, my grandad gave me this book last year he knows The Catcher In The Rye is one of my favourites, so thought that I would enjoy learning more about him as he sounds like a really interesting and mysterious person. He must of had a fulfilling life as it is a pretty big book!
What big books have you tackled? Or want to tackle this year? Do big books overwhelm you? I would love to chat so let me know your thoughts. Katie x
