Review: 
I absolutely loved this book! Matt Haig is honest, witty and wise, I soaked up everything he said and I think it helped me realise a lot of things, especially with my stress and anxiety.

Matt shares his thoughts and feelings on a lot of things in the modern world that can increase an already stressed and anxious mind. From social media, to supermarkets, celebrities and emails. Matt covers a lot of stuff, but the book is so easy to read and not at all overwhelming even with all the information, facts and figures. The book is laid out into sections and within each section are very short chapters, some only a page long so it is very easy to pick up and put down, or like me read the entire thing in less than 2 days.

After each chapter, Matt gives a list of tips and tricks to help you succeed in living in this modern chaotic world. I will definitely take a lot of these onboard especially to do with phones and social media. He suggests not sleeping next to your phone and putting it in another room, although I don’t think I am quite ready to do that (a crazy thing to admit) but I will be looking at how much time I spend clicking the centre icon on my iPhone just to “check if I missed a text” and delete a lot of useless time consuming apps.

I think Matt’s book can help a lot of people, and not just people who may suffer from depression, anxiety or stress. This book is just for the modern human being living in a busy, technological world full of images of “perfection” and constant need for approval. This book makes you see sense, it’s accessible and very engaging.

I recommend this book to absolutely everyone and hopefully when you read it, your life will be a little bit better and you might put your phone down a little bit more often.
