A Christmas Brunchy Lunchy at The Tudor Rose Tearooms

Last weekend myself, Dee, my sister and my little niece all went to The Tudor Rose Tea Rooms for a Christmas lunch/brunch. The Tudor Rose Tea Rooms is owned by Dee’s, fiance’s cousin. It is located on the Barbican in Plymouth which is a popular part of the city especially for nice food and bars.

We received a very warm welcome from all the staff. They were very accommodating to my sister with the high chair, helping her store away the pram and making sure Mayla was okay. The tea rooms is quite small, but very cosy. The decor is really funky, I especially liked the giant wall clock made out of tea cups.

We were offered turkey or beef or a mix of both for our roast lunches, all came with potatoes, cauliflower cheese, stuffing, parsnips, carrots, sprouts, home-made yorkshire pudding and thick gravy. It was the perfect amount of food for me. The roast was only £8.95. If you want 2x courses it’s only £10 so very very reasonable.

As well as the roast myself and Dee got pots of tea. The tea pots have the cutest hand-knitted tea cosies. I had a Christmas pudding and Dee had a face. These little extras just make your lunch out more special.

I would definitely go back to The Tudor Tea Rooms for a roast again or maybe try their Afternoon Tea. I did notice a few tables with this and it looked great!

The Tudor Tea Rooms was a lovely little place for lunch, very friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, quirky decor and warm and cosy. What more could you want. If you are popping to Plymouth anytime please check it out.

Are you ready for your big Christmas dinner? Have you prepped your belly like we have with a cheeky roast or two? My record so far is 3 in one week! Hoping not to eat anymore until the big Christmas lunch now! Katie & Dee x
