Five For Friday – I Will Read More Of Your Books (recommendations welcome)

Hi everyone welcome to this weeks instalment of Five For Friday. I don’t know about you but I am forever reading amazing books by brilliant authors then forgetting all about them and not reading anything else written by them. So this post is all about 5x books by 5x brilliant authors that I have read, but I never read any more of their novels! Why? Because I am foolish.

Please give me any book recommendations by the authors shown below, I would love to hear from you.

1. I want to read more of: Fredrik Backman
Book I read: A Man Called Ove

I read A Man Called Ove about a year ago now and I absolutley LOVED it, from the characters to the plot line, this novel had me laughing and crying. Yet I still haven’t picked up any more Fredrick Backman novels. WHY? Because I am a fool. I have heard Bear Town is fantastic. But any other suggestions welcome.

2. I want to read more of: Celeste Ng
Book I read : Everything I Never Told You

I read this recently, some of you may have seen my review. I really loved this novel it was a modern and unique family drama and Celeste’s writing was just beautiful and haunting. A Lot of people are reading Little Fires Everywhere by Ng, so 100% adding this to my list.

3. I want to read more of: Agatha Christie
Book I Read: Murder on the Orient Express

I was never expecting to enjoy this novel but I really loved it. It kind of reminded me of my school days when I read Nancy Drew books. This is the only Agatha Christie book I have ever read. If anybody would like to recommend a few books to me by her I would be really grateful.

4. I want to read more of: Daphne Du Maurier
Book I Read: Rebecca

I love a classic novel and this has to be one of my favourites, yet I never went back and read any du Maurier’s work. I have Jamaica Inn on my TBR list so I need to get round to reading it as I feel like I am missing out on some fabulous writing!

5. I want to read more of: Markus Zusak
Book I Read: The Book Thief
59222

The Book Thief is 100% on my top 10 list of best books I have ever read. Have I read anymore of Zusak’s work? No. Should I? Most definitely. Has anyone read Bridge of Clay yet?

Isn’t it funny that we read these brilliant books by brilliant authors yet never read the rest of their novels? I hope I am not the only one guilty of doing this. I think I need to take note of more authors I love and read more of their books because if I enjoyed one surely I will enjoy the rest? Please give me any book recommendations by the authors shown above, I would love to hear from you. Katie x

Yes I agree, The Book Thief is so good! But a good writer can surely write more than one good book! So I will have to read more of his novels. Oh okay I haven’t heard of that one looks like I have a lot of Backman to add to my list, thank you ☺️

    Great article!

I am such a fan of Celeste Ng and her novel, Everything I Never Told You. It was such a great and heartbreaking read. I was waiting on getting the paperback for her next book, Little Fires Everywhere, but I’m not sure it’s going into paperback. So on my Birthday not too long ago, I got a gift certificate for Barnes an Noble and finally picked up a copy. The book sounds so interesting, can’t wait to start reading it. It also going to be adapted into a Hulu mini-series with Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington. So going to try and read the book hopefully soon.

Every time I go to the bookstore I always see Fredrick Backman’s novels. I have heard such good things about his books. I know A Man Called Ove was adapted into a movie. Another book to add to the reading list and than watch the adaptation.

I read You by Caroline Kepnes and the sequel to You. I still haven’t gotten her latest book yet, Providence. I was also waiting on that to go into paperback, but I don’t think that that is happening anytime soon either. Hoping to read that this year.
