A Magical Character or Book.
The Night Circus every time! Ultimate favourite magical book.
The Perfect Book to Read at Night.|
The Ocean at the End of the Lane is quite a short book, you could probably read it all in one evening and it does get pretty creepy, so a pretty good book to read in the dark!
A Book that Truly Shocked You.
American Psycho. I read the book after watching the film and the film has been toned down CONSIDERABLY! The book is a lot more violent, creepy and actually made me feel a bit sick.
A Dark, Evil Character.
Mrs Coulter from Philip Pullman’s Dark Materials. What a cow! Separating children from their deamons which is an extremely painful and psychologically damaging procedure to do to children. She is sickly sweet and kind but behind closed doors and with her evil monkey… she is AWFUL!
A Character that Should Never Have Died.
Lots of them… all of them…
A Book that Made You “Hungry” for More.
After book 1 I wanted more, after book 2 The Girl in the Tower I wanted more and I still have to wait until January to read it! It’s been my favourite series for a long time and I don’t want it to end!
A Character that You Would Protect at All Cost.
The unnamed character in the novel Rebecca. I felt sorry for her and all she did was try her best and it was never good enough. When Mrs Danvers the house keeper is horrible to her I hate it! She never deserved to be mistreated by anyone.
A Book that Sucked the Life Out of You.
The Mermaid. I got told this book was amazing and it really disappointed me. It took a lot of effort to finish it because I found it so dull and I was more disappointed that it wasn’t very magical, wasn’t very dark, was just meh.
A Book that Still Haunts You.
This book REALLY freaked me out, it just made me feel uncomfortable and was all round a bit odd. It’s a great book but not sure if I could read it again. Plus my no1 phobia is wasps, so it really got to me.
A Book that Really Scared You.
I don’t think any book has ever scared me, but this one had me sweating and on the edge of my seat throughout. I have never wanted someone to escape and survive so much and to be fair Annie is one of the creepiest characters I have ever read and I would be pretty scared to be “under her care”
A Character You Have a Bone to Pick With.
Laura, the main character of this terrible book. She becomes The Keeper of Lost Things that her friend Anthony’s leaves her, his very special collection of “Lost Things” that he finds and keeps, from buttons to wallets, to umbrellas and keep-sakes. An amazing collection of stuff. However does Laura give a crap about this stuff? Not really she is more interested in the “hot” gardener. She was undeserving of the Lost Things and quite a pathetic character.
A Book You Would Preserve Throughout Time.
I love this book, I know most people do but it really has been one of my favourite reads so far this year.
A Cover too Scary to Look At.
Not read this book, the cover is horrific. I hate anything weird to do with eyeballs!
THE MONSTER MASH
It’s Fun to Be with Friends on Halloween!
Hope you enjoyed my choices and have a Happy Halloween! Katie x
