Hello all and HAPPY SUNDAY! In this weeks instalment of Sunday Sizzler we give you a deliciously cheesy pasta bake and to go with it a ridiculously cheesy book! Hope you love cheese people!
VERY CHEESY PASTA BAKE
– Chedder Cheese
– Pasta bake sauce (cheating)
Boil your pasta in a pan, whilst this is cooking chop up tomatoes, olives and peppers. Grate your cheeses, you can add any cheese you like, motzerella is nice as it goes all stringy. One the pasta is almost cooked, drain and add your sauce (if you want to make your own sauce that’s cool too, I just used a jar) add your spinach, olives, tomatoes and peppers into the pasta, stir well and pour into an oven proof dish.
Top your pasta bake with all your lovely cheeses and bake in the oven on 180degrees for about 15-20 minutes depending on how long your cheese takes to fully melt.
*IDEA* For an extra crunch, smash up a packet or two of ready salted crisps. Pour these over the top of you pasta bake and then add your cheese on top for a cripsy cheesy crunchy topping!
Serve on it’s own or with salad or garlic bread.
IT’S CHEESY BUT I LOVE IT
This week I have chosen The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. I vowed I would never read this book or watch the film. It just looked “too cheesy”, a bit wet and pathetic and not my thing at all. Whilst travelling I went to the hostel book swap and this was the only thing on the shelf that A. I hadn’t read and B. Was in English…. I read it all in one afternoon. I literally could not get enough. It’s a very easy read, meant for teenagers so I wizzed through it fast and I even welled up at the end. Yes it is VERY cheesy but also beautiful, funny and sad. Hazel is terminally ill and has been for years, she is down and sad and tries to live a normal life but find it difficult. Until one day Augustus walks into her Cancer Support Group and her life is about to change.
We hope you enjoyed this weeks Sunday Sizzler. If you decide to make any of our recipes or read the books we recommend, let us know! We would love to hear from you. As always thanks for reading. Katie & Dee x
