In this weeks instalment of Sunday Sizzler, Dee will show you how to make a delicious meaty stead and I will be sharing a book series that you can really stick your teeth into… it’s long and the books are big…
RECIPE FOR STEAK NIGHT
-Fillet or sirloin steak
– 3-4 Maris Piper Potatoes
– Oil or fry light spray
– Mixed herbs
– Whatever veg you fancy
Method for Herby Potatoes:
Cut the potatoes into wedge shapes (half and half again)
Put them into boil for approx 8 minutes
Preheat the oven to 200 or 180 for fan
Drain the potatoes and give them a shake to fluff them up
Put a little oil or spray fry light onto a baking tray and place into the oven
Leave the potatoes on the side to dry for about 3-5 minutes
Take the tray out of the oven and put the potatoes evenly on
Sprinkle over the herbs and paprika and bake in the oven for approx 25-30 minutes
Method for Steak
I think there is a knack to cooking steak just right – this is for a medium rare steak
Take the steak out of the fridge and leave it on the side to get to room temperature for at least 30 minutes, rub a little oil and garlic (optional) into both sides.
Heat some oil or fry light in a pan until it is really hot.
Place the steak into the pan and cook for a minute on each side, and turn over and cook for a further 3-4 minutes on each side.
Take the steak out of the pan and rest on a plate for 5 minutes – resting the steak is important as this is where the juices come out.
Serve with the herby wedges and whatever veg you like – enjoy!

If you want a new meaty series to get reading this is the one for you. It has everything you want in it and it’ goooood!
