This week I am focussing on my recent week off work. My friend Jasmine all the way from Melbourne Australia came to visit me. I met her whilst travelling three years ago and we have since been long distance pen pals.
MY THREE THINGS FOR THIS WEEK ARE…
Reading – Myths
I haven’t had a lot of time to read anything this past week. Which is nice in a way but not so good for the blog! I have been reading Stephen Fry’s re-tellings of Greek Myths. I am only halfway through the book but it is so interesting to read. I have aways been into greek mythology especially in school so it’s nice to read a book that is more adult and has a lot of knowledge. Greek stories of the gods and goddesses are my favourite. I will write a full book review soon.
Seeing – Nature
During this week off I spent a lot of times outdoors and appreciating nature and wildlife which has been so nice as I am normally stuck in an office with no windows. We spent the week down in Cornwall, I saw robins, hens, pigs and beetles, I saw rugged cliff tops, beautiful beaches, woodland and flowers.
Doing – Camping in a Wigwam
For three nights we stayed at Ruthern Campsite in Bodmin. The campsite was really peaceful and not too large. There was an area for people with tents, larger lodges and wigwams. We stayed in one of the wigwams, a simple hut like structure we were provided with a kettle, fridge and microwave also beds. It was nice to stay in as I hate putting up tents, they always feel so damp so this felt like a real treat. The campsite is proud to have achieved the Gold David Bellamy Conservation Award 17 years running and you’ll find yourself surrounded by greenery and flowers all year round. A very tranquil beautiful place to stay.
Have you been to Cornwall before? Where are your favourite places and beautiful spots? Let me know I would love to know. Katie x
What is Three Things?…
Three Things was created by Paula’s at The Book Jotter. Her new idea is to regularly write three things she observes in the world around her which include:
1. Reading
2. Looking
3. Doing or Thinking
It’s just a great way for your followers to see what you have been up to in the week and mixes up what your normally post about. If you want to also take part or find out more about Paula’s idea please go to her blog
Lovely Three Things…, Katie. Tweeted as usual! 😃
