I wasn’t actually tagged to this but found it on a great book bloggers page “Beach Bookworm” So have decided to take part without being tagged.
1 How long have you been blogging?
I used to have a couple of Tumblr blogs where I basically had a travel diary. I went travelling for 6 months so posted all about what I was up to. Myself and Dee started the Brunching Bookworms blog up in January and we both love it!
2. At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging?
That isn’t something I plan to do, hopefully we keep building up this blog and gain more followers and interest, the only time I would stop if if it really fizzled out but I love reading and writing about it so hopefully will continue blogging for some time yet!
3. What is the best thing about blogging?
The welcoming and supportive friendly community. I never thought people would be interested in anything I had to say about books or reading when there are soooo many amazing book bloggers out there. So when you lovely people comment, like, share and interact it just feels amazing.
4. What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?
Making time to write posts, I have recently created my own blog calendar so I know what I am posting when and the schedule button really helps with that. I work full time and have an active social life plus fitting in time to read so it can be a push to write long blog posts sometimes, but I always find the time somehow!
5. How long does it take you to make/find pictures to use?
It’s a real mix, a lot of the time on the blog and Instagram myself and Dee take our own photos, I also sometimes use free photo websites like Pexels and Unsplash, I think this is a great way to utilise others skills when I am not so great at photography. Most book cover photos I get off the internet.
6. Who is your book crush?
I think Mr Rochester from Jayne Eyre, I imagine him to be very good looking, he is kind, caring and a bit offish which for some reason I find attractive.
7. What author would you like to have on your blog?
Difficult question… There are so many to choose from. Just purely looking at books which I have loved this year I would probably choose Gail Honeyman who’s debut novel was Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. I absolutely adored this novel and would love to hear her thought process behind the story, how she started writing, what she has planned next.
8. What do you wear when you write your blog posts?
Whatever I am wearing when I write, I don’t specifically wear clothes to blog 9 times out of 10 its pjs I’m not going to lie.
9. How long does it take you to prepare?
I am getting better at preparing, organising and thinking of new content. Like I said above I have a calendar now and I schedule posts a lot so I don’t have to write everyday. Some weekly posts like Five for Friday I have organised about a month in advance even if that’s just the idea.
10. How do you feel about the book blogging community?
Like I said in question 3 friendly, supportive and welcoming. I do think a lot of people like blog posts a lot which is great but I would love more bloggers to interact, I always ask a few questions at the end of blog posts so if more people want to get in touch I would really appreciate it and love to chat to new people.
11. What do you think one should do to get a successful blog?
I think I am still trying to figure out the magic ingredient on that. I guess write what you are passionate about, have a unique edge, write back to any comments and interact with your followers.
Join in with this tag if you wish, I am not specifically tagging anyone but I would be really interested to read other bloggers answers. Katie x
