Happy Valentines Day everyone! There will be no mushy mushy lovey dovey nonsense about our loved ones here, just some love for a few of our favourite romance novels. Here is a list of our top five, in no particular order…

1. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
“You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you’

2. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
“I have for the first time found what I can truly love–I have found you. You are my sympathy–my better self–my good angel–I am bound to you with a strong attachment.”

3. Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding
“I like you very much. Just as you are.”

4. The Notebook by Nicolas Sparks
“I love you. I am who I am because of you. You are every reason, every hope, and every dream I’ve ever had, and no matter what happens to us in the future, everyday we are together is the greatest day of my life. I will always be yours.”

5. Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
“Even more, I had never meant to love him. One thing I truly knew – knew it in the pit of my stomach, in the centre of my bones, knew it from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet, knew it deep in my empty chest – was how love gave someone the power to break you”

Let us know what your favourite romance novels are, do you prefer a classic like Jane Austen or a more contemporary romance? We would love to know. Katie x
